XML-based Import/Export Utility

A leading manufacturer of gas measurement devices asked ProtoLink to develop a standard import/export methodology for an existing data collection and analysis software package.  Recognizing the advantages of using XML over CSV and binary file formats, ProtoLink developed an XML-Data Reduced (XDR) schema to specify the structure of the data files compatible with the import/export processes.  The code that implements the import/export support makes extensive use of the Document Object Model (DOM) and XML Path Language (XPath) to manage and manipulate the XML documents.
