A medical device manufacturer asked ProtoLink to develop software to facilitate firmware updates of their devices via a mobile application.
To accomplish this, ProtoLink developed a cross-platform mobile application that interacts with a ProtoLink-developed embedded Windows service running on the medical device. These two components facilitate the transfer of updated firmware to the device and the triggering of the update on the device. The mobile application was developed in C# using Xamarin and runs on a variety of iOS and Android devices.
In addition to managing firmware updates, the mobile application also retrieves encrypted information from the device and then securely transfers that information to the Salesforce CRM platform.
The mobile application performs authentication using Microsoft Intune.
